Liverpool FC has been the first Premier League team to get the individualized course and to use ThermoHuman software. Rubén Pons, Liverpool FC physiotherapist, completed the ThermoHuman individualized training during 2016 preseason. The prestigious Spanish specialist has been working in Melwood since 2014, after his experience in Villarreal CF and his own clinic in Spain. From the first day of the preseason all players have been assessed using infrared thermography, with the purpose of getting thermal information in a neutral condition and then following the thermal evolution through the time. The information provided by ThermoHuman was used to track the workload assimilation and recovery by detecting thermal asymmetries that can be related with injury risk.
ThermoHuman has had the support of the Funds of the European Union and the Community of Madrid through the Operational Programme on Youth Employment. Likewise, ThermoHuman within the framework of the Export Initiation Program of ICEX NEXT, had the support of ICEX and the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Thermohuman has received funding from the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), in participation with the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), for the R+D activities involved in creating a new tool, based on thermography, for the prediction and prevention of rheumatoid arthritis.
