Leonardo González, first-team physiotherapist, explains how thermography helps the staff make more precise decisions, reduce risks, and optimize each player’s workload. In his own words::
"ThermoHuman allows us to make more precise decisions, reduce risks, and optimize each player's workload.""
With a daily routine of thermal imaging before physical activity, the medical and performance team creates an individual thermal profile for each player.
Leonardo also walks us through the key areas where thermography is making an impact within the team:
“We analyze significant thermal variations that can alert us to potential issues before they develop into injuries.”
“When a player is injured, we use thermography to track their recovery. Each injury behaves differently—some show increased temperature, others a decrease. This helps us better evaluate progress and adapt treatments accordingly.”
“We combine thermal data with wellness questionnaires, GPS, jump platforms, and other tools to identify the root cause of variations and accurately manage each player's workload.”
Leonardo also emphasizes how essential this technology is in the Return to Play process:
“It helps us detect compensations in other parts of the body during rehab. We can see if the healthy leg is being overloaded, or if the injured one isn’t responding as expected.”
He adds:
“With ThermoHuman fully integrated into our day-to-day at Club Tigres, we’ve significantly reduced injury rates and improved recovery times.”
