We’re very excited to share this collaboration with Girona FC, a club that is firmly committed to innovation and technology in their daily work with players.
For some time now, Girona’s performance and medical departments have integrated the use of ThermoHuman as one more tool in their methodology. As they explain in the video they’ve published, they use infrared thermography to obtain objective information about the players' physiological state, both in normal situations and during recovery processes after injury.
The process they follow is simple but powerful:
- When players arrive, a thermographic image is taken.
- That image is then processed in our software to analyze possible temperature variations, signs of fatigue, or relevant asymmetries.
- This information is interpreted and shared with the performance lead in order to adjust decisions — from training load to which physiotherapy techniques to apply based on each player’s condition.
As the club explains, there are two key moments where the tool becomes especially valuable:
- With healthy players, they carry out the scan right after the match and also two days before the next one. This allows them to understand how the competition has affected the player and plan the week’s workload individually.
- With players in the rehabilitation process, thermography helps assess how their body is responding to workload, whether in the gym or on the field. This way, they can fine-tune each phase of the process more precisely.
In the words of Girona’s own staff:
“The tool allows us to make decisions with objective information in the player’s day-to-day, whether for recovery or for prevention.”
We’re truly grateful to walk alongside Girona FC in this journey.
It’s especially motivating for us to see how they practically integrate thermography into a global approach to health, performance, and player care.
