Unicaja Baloncesto and ThermoHuman have signed a partnership agreement to integrate infrared thermography technology into the protocols of their performance department. The main objective of this alliance is to optimize the workload management of the first team during the current season.

The demanding schedule of elite basketball, which combines national (Liga Endesa) and European competition, demands comprehensive monitoring of the players' physical condition. The high frequency of games and current competitive density require precise and effective monitoring tools.

To respond to this need, Unicaja de Málaga has incorporated ThermoHuman's technology. Through the use of thermal cameras and our Artificial Intelligence-based software, the Andalusian team will be able to quickly, objectively, and non-invasively evaluate the physiological response of its athletes to competitive stress.

The implementation of thermography will allow the club's technical and medical staff to:

  • Monitor load assimilation: Early identification of areas with increased metabolic or joint stress resulting from training sessions and games.
  • Evaluate recovery: Objectively analyzing the thermal evolution of each player to measure the effectiveness of rest and recovery strategies.
  • Individualize physical work: Providing quantitative data that facilitates adjusting training sessions to the specific needs of each athlete.

For ThermoHuman, it is a privilege to collaborate with a leading institution in European basketball such as Unicaja de Málaga. This partnership reinforces our commitment to the application of technology and data analysis to maximize sports performance in the professional elite.
